Work Space

I recently took this pic of my work space for a book I'm contributing to. The picture is only of my desk since I literally don't have a "real" space to work. I've been working in the corner of my living room for over 3 years now. But I'm so happy to announce that I will be getting my own room as my studio (i.e., four walls and a door!) very soon. More on that later.

The count down for my wedding is less than a month away. I'm also working on some designs for Surtex, which its so hard since I can't show everything I've been doing here. But a sneak peek...notice whats on the screen in the pic? Thats a piece for my postcard. I'm waiting for it from the printers...I'll show that here once I get it.

lovely little work space. I'm excited that you're going to get your very own studio! I worked out of my living room for ages too and there's nothing better than getting rid of that distracting television (if you're like me).

Also hope your wedding day is beautiful and fun. Hope something spontaneous and wonderful happens that day that you can remember forever with a smile on your face.

Very cool to see your workspace :) BTW my Kindergarten kiddoes are starting to recognize different artists' styles...one little girl in library the other day pointed out some digital artwork (of course she doesn't understand digital and all that) of another artist and said it looked "like Chickengirl's" :) Isn't that neat that they can begin to recognize different styles? It was really cute artwork, but not yours! Just thought I would share; we have several of your illos in class (The Penguins' Perfect Picnic book you sent, the other cute books by Shelley Harwayne, the big poem illustration from our reading series...I point out your work all the time!) Thanks for your supportive comments on my blog. They mean a lot. :)

oh! Are you going to be at Surtex too? This will be my first year, we will have to find each other. will I look for an exhausted bride or a well reasted girl after her honeymoon?

Oh what a cute desk! I love seeing pictures of people's working area. I'm moving into a new apartment by the end of the month and I need some inspiration :)
