Look, mom! There is my book!

Thanks to Alicia Padrón for taking this awesome picture at her Barnes and Nobles! I'm going to enjoy every moment of this till they take it off the shelves after Halloween. Now everyone go to your nearest bookstore, find my book and make sure it is, um, "strategically placed"...*wink wink nudge nudge* :-)

Its also interesting to see what other Halloween books are out there. When I was working on this book, it was no where near Halloween. Now I can look back and see what other quirky things/ideas I might of missed.

This week I am taking a class and a much needed mini vacation. I'm sure there will be interesting things to report back. Have a good week, everyone.

I was in Barnes and Noble on Sat and saw the book!! It looked great! I didn't realize they did some special effects with raising the images and putting a coating on them, I am not sure what they call that.

I received mine yesterday via Amazon! I'll have you know my 4 year old has made me read it 70 billion times already, not sure if I should thank you ;) my 2 year old has been flipping through it and pointing at the characters, might need to get him his own copy. My personal favorite part is the blood filled juice boxes, beautiful! Oh, and sorry I never comment but I read your blog habitually and LOVE your creativity.

funny, i was just talking about how i wished my book was "strategically" placed at barnes for halloween.

good for you. the book cover stands out among the rest of the books and that should definitely help the sales.

Jannie!! This is so great!! Congratulations on your book! I just ordered my very own personal copy. Now to sit by the door tapping my foot, waiting for the UPS guy. So ya think if I rub the cover a few times, like a little golden Genie (Jannie) Lamp, it will give me good luck and one day one of my little books will find thier way to a fantastic display area like yours!? ;o) Hahah

I'm happy for you, truly. Doesn't it look just so great on that stand? I would stand there all day in the book store staring at it... soooo coooool...

Hi there; back again! I needed some more of your chicken greatness! You wanted to know about some of the places I like to go in the city. I love look and shop so Purl Soho, for fabric and yarns, Cobzi's for some of the most beautifully hand made clothing, dolls, and baby clothing! The owner is also a children's book Illustrator and is so warm and friendly. Cobzi.com. It's just Wonderful! The Brownstone up in Harlem for of course more clothing and had made earrings, rings and other delicious things. Thanks Chickengirl you always make my day. Have lots of fun!

Congrats, Jannie! That's pretty exciting! I'll have to go check Babar's store window and see if you're book is there.

Our B&N in Newington, NH had your book placed just underneath (facing out of course!)the very big deal book 'Bats in the Library' - not on the table, just across from it, on another display area. Probably a better spot than the table at this particular store. I picked up my copy and it's really fantastic - I'm very impressed with the printing and the spot UV - I also thought it was very inexpensive for how well made the book is - well done Jannie!!!
