Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year! Here is a piece I did for Time for Kids magazine. I'm celebrating by eating alot of my mom's food....she came over a few days ago to stock my fridge with lots of yummy Chinese food.
Things are busy here as I am managing work and also some wedding-related things...which is only a few short months away now. I've been hand assembling my invitations for the past few days and I can't wait to take pics and show it off here (the fruits of my hard labor!) but I will have to keep it private for now.

Anyways, I hope I will keep up with the blogging but I've been distracted with so many things going on personally....and sometimes wonder how much of it I should share here. Ever since I quit my job 3 years ago to become an illustrator full time, I've been focusing on my career. This is one of those years where I need to focus a little more on my personal life/goals. And hopefully, I can share a few things as I go along. More later!

Thanks for sharing your joys with us. I've been a wallflower for about a year, adoring your designs and illos each post. It's only fitting that some who spread so much joy in her images could get a little free to receive some of life's greatest joys too.

Congrats and best of luck getting ready for the wedding.

Hey Chickengirl! With so much on your plate right now I can hardly believe that you are still posting at all. You are such an inspiration to all of us. Some of us even live vicariously through you and your world of illustration. You have lots to do right now. You about to a new thing. Marriage! It's so much to do right now and not enough hours, hands, and legs to do it all in. he he he! These are the very special moments that you don't need to loose. Your special day will come and go so quickly you'll wonder what was all the planning for? Take a break and give yourself time to enjoy. We will be here when you get back. Waiting with baited breathe! Okay, at least I will be. I wish you grace and peace and much happiness and love!

Kung hei fat choi, Chickengirl! And thanks for stopping by.

I hope your year (2009 and Ox) is full of great things for you.

As for invitations, I did them for all my friends but for me I decided not to. We were 19 people only, anyway, so I guess I didn´t need to worry! :)

Have a good time and don´t be too nervous!

janie - this is so cool, i love all the details. good luck with all the wedding planning, i remember wanting to keep mine simple, but i still had to have all the basic stuff - dress, cake, food, flowers, etc. it is a lot of work! exciting, though and a nice change from always thinking about work.

This is great, Jannie! I also LOVE the graphic novels below! Makes me wanna try to do something like that! It's funny how we can "trick" kiddoes into reading good stuff...they think they're just reading comics and it's actually a really good story! :) Love the idea! (Check out my John Wayne TP if you can...I think you would appreciate my geeky humor!) :)
