I ended up mocking up some of the recipe cards and made a little package tag to go with it. The paper is textured and cream colored- something I had left over from my wedding invitations.
The ink color turned out to be more muted than I originally intended- but now its one of those happy accidents in which I like this alot better. I'm always striving to pick a more "sophisticated" color palette in my work but always end up using bright, primary colors. I guess my printer is trying to tell me something?

OMG those are so cute! love the textured paper and softness of the color too! A winner for sure :o)
I have the same problem with color. I love the softer colors and the luscious paper. Beautiful!
your mock-ups look great!
They look great Jannie! I really love the palette.
Very nice! Like the more muted colors too.
This is completely yummy. I have been working on mine as well. Yours are so wonderfully cheery! I'm still trying to come up with a concept and everything. making it a whole lot more complicated then it needs to be. Oh heck I need a vacation and I'll just purchase your cards LOL!! I love them. They are really a neat treat.
Ohhhh....ahhhh....!!!! I love this!!!!
These are so sweet! I noticed your design for Target gift cards, it's lovely!
These are very cool! Almost too lovely to write a recipe on, but then again, where is the fun in that? Always a treat to pop in and see what you are up to. =)
I love that sneaky feline, and the textured paper and more muted colors are scrumptious!
Hi Jannie! I have a question... I remember seeing awhile back a picture you posted of your desk and you had a wacom. I am looking to buy one and wondered if you have any advice on which one to get? Do you think a cintiq would be easier?
By the way.. I really love those recipe cards.. especially the way the color turned out :)
Hi Squirrel girl- yes I have a wacom, but a really really old one. I think the intuos is great to start with if you've never worked with a wacom before. I think they even come wireless now. My only tip would be to just buy the smallest size- that way you are just moving your wrists and not your full arm. My shoulders started to hurt after using a bigger one.
As for the cintiq- I WANT one! I'm hoping to get the 21" soon. That is a whole different experience, and since I don't own one, I can't give much advice on it. Obviously the price jump is far greater than an intuos. ($$$!)
Hope that helps a little! :-)
Oh these are so adorable and I too like the softer colors!
