21 Day Challenge- Day 9 of 21

One of the perks with working from home is doing grocery shopping during off hours like weekday afternoons. Unfortunately, the supermarkets in my neighborhood are filled with aggressive old ladies and their shopping carts- ready to mow down anyone thats in their way.

Your work is adorable! I love all your illos. Especially the ones that would never make it into children's books! Gotta love those feisty little old ladies. . .

Ha! This brings back memories of the years I worked in a grocery store! Great job on this!

We used to have a lady that came in that looked exactly like Maxine, the old lady on greeting cards from Hallmark's Shoebox Greetings! I don't remember if she was a crabby as Maxine though!

hehe! you have a bunch of new characters that are incredible! Maybe they never make it into a children's book but I think they can open you other doors, not everything has to be cute or innocent. I'm sure you are going to have good luck with them.

This is fantastic! I know what you mean about doing groceries mid-week. Maybe the aggressive grannies, will stay away if you make this into a little sign that you could attach to your cart.=)
Thanks for sharing.

That is hilarious, Jannie! That little old lady is too funny and the added touch of the carrot character makes it over the top! Love this one :) BTW, which brush are you using to make the extra looking line (like a brush that's separated.) I've been wanting to do that kind of look in some of my illustrations, but I haven't explored enough of the brushes to figure out how to get the look I want! (I'm LAZY I guess!) Thanks :)

Thank you everyone!

Tom: hahah, There are MANY Maxines in my neighborhood...!

Tracy: I am using the artistic chalk, charcoal, and pencil brushes. I'm sure there are many more I should be exploring :-)
